Ordering Unruly Wills and Affections: An Outline of the Anglican Moral Life

A Seminar Open to All:

Friday, December 6 (6:30-8:00pm)
Saturday, December 7 (10am-3pm)

The Book of Common Prayer is not only central to a vibrant spirituality, but to the renovation of the interior life. Come and consider how God uses the Book of Common Prayer to transform human desire to yearn for higher things and why the moral life is necessary to “lay aside every weight and...run with patience the race that is set before us” (Heb. 12:1).

Please join us as Fr. Brian Oldfield teaches us:

Session 1: Introducing the terms: “Anglican,” “Moral,” & “ Life.”

Session 2: What Makes a Man? - Teleology & the Image of God

Session 3: The Structure of the Will - A discussion on St. Anselm’s On the Fall of the Devil

Session 4: Sin and its Effects - A theology of sin as corruption

Session 5: Sanctification & the Moral Life - Prayerbook Rule & cultivating the moral life

Fr. Oldfield is a graduate of Westminster Theological Seminary & formerly a member of the St. Mark’s Fellows Program. He is the Rector of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Melbourne, Florida.
